Chicago- the city that hates the 2nd Amendment and all us "bitter clingers" is trying to get around the Supreme Court decision that forced them to permit gun ownership . First, they wanted a per bullet (though it's actually called a round) tax of 5 cents per round (a box of ammo usually contains anywhere from 20 to 100 rounds). In the case of .22lr, the tax, of $5.00 per hundred, is actually more than the cost of the ammo. When that met with extreme opposition, the asswipes decided to tax gun owners for simply OWNING guns. READ THIS. I have got to say, I find this absolutely un-Constitutional. The same people who oppose poll taxes, as violating a Constitutionally enumerated right (which they do), are advocating a tax on owning a gun, a Constitutionally enumerated right.

I am sick and tired of these people. Their excuse is "We need to pay for the medical costs of gun violence." The problem is, most gunviolence isn't committed by the people who buy their guns legally. Nope, it's committed by people who steal guns FROM legal owners, or who get them from illegal sources to begin with. what this is ACTUALLY designed to do is make owning a gun more expensive. The rich people will still have guns, (and private security companies), but the poorer people, the ones who are the victims of the illegal guns, will have no way to protect themselves FROM the armed criminals. Women, the most common victims of armed violence, will not be able to afford a gun to protect themselves from rapists, muggers, and other violent criminals.

It's past time to start suing the various governments for their repeated (and entirely unconstitutional) attempts to subvert the Constitution and violate our enumerated rights. Let's start with a giant "FUCK YOU CHICAGO!!!" And we can move on from there.
