The problem is, is that the way Bush has done it over the last eight years is to take out a credit card from the Bank of China in the name of our children, driving up our national debt from $5 trillion for the first 42 presidents – #43 added $4 trillion by his lonesome, so that we now have over $9 trillion of debt that we are going to have to pay back — $30,000 for every man, woman and child. I just wish that those who support him would remember his own words. By his own definition, HE is 1.5 times more unpatriotic than Bush was. The same man who swore he was going to CUT the deficit in half by 2012.  Instead, the yearly deficit has remained effectively unchanged, at 1.3 TRILLION dollars per year. The national debt was just overv 9 trillion dollars when Bush left office. After 8 years in office, the debt had risen $4.899 trillion. By March 19, 2012, the national debt had risen  another 4.939 trillion, from 10.626 trillion to 15.566 trillion.  Source As of Sept ember 4th, the Treasury dept announced it had crossed the 16 trillion mark. $50, 888.81 debt for every man, woman, and child in the US. On January 1, 2009, it was $29,683.11.  That is an increase of $21205.70 per person. AND the population has increased since then.
